Many of the brides who contact me are women who don’t wear much (or even any) makeup on a day-to-day basis. They want to look stunning on their wedding day but don’t want to be plastered in lots of heavy makeup. It’s a cliche, but a bride should look and feel the best version of herself on her big day. If her friends and family are used to seeing her fresh faced and makeup free, then there’s no reason to start piling on liquid liner and eyebrow pencil just because she’s getting married.
Charlotte was one of these brides. As a busy vet she doesn’t have the time or inclination to wear makeup every day so for her wedding I kept her makeup very simple and natural, using soft neutral browns to bring out her eyes and a touch of pink to give her cheeks an English rose glow. For her hair, I created a tousled updo to the side as she wanted something pretty but unfussy to go with her country wedding in a converted barn.
